Playa del Inglés

MASPALOMAS WEATHER

To name but a few – Yumbo centre is known for LGBT tourism, Gran Chaparral is popular with tourists from Holland, Kasbah and the Plaza and Metro are known for late night bars and clubs, Cita centre is popular with German tourists and Swingers, and Aguila Roja is endearingly called the Irish centre, so there is a great choice to suit many tastes.

Particularly popular with everyone – couples, groups or families, of all ages, all keen to enjoy the invariably sunny skies, and 3 km stretch of sandy beach.

Did you know? Literally translated to “Beach of the English”, it is said that the resort is named after a English man who lived there before the explosion of tourism.

Quoted as being the second largest resort in Spain (Benidorm supposedly being the first), Playa del Inglés has been described as a “concrete jungle” in the south coast of the island of Gran Canaria.  As unappealing as this may sound, this resort is a very popular tourist destination providing an abundance of hotels and bungalow complexes to suit most peoples taste……what ever you are looking for, you will most probably find it here.

In addition to the traditional sea-front promenade with restaurants, shops, cafes and bars, due to the sheer size of this resort, there are also many different “centres”, each with their own characteristics, styles, entertainment, charm and followers.
